Movie: Ask Me Anything

Having read the book Undiscovered Gyrl over the summer I was really looking forward to seeing the movie and to see how the film tackles many of the issues that the book handles.
I have to say that while I liked the book this is a case where I liked the movie better.  Which was really surprise me.
The first 30 minutes of the movie were a little iffy. I found myself facing a bit of a learning curve with Katie. Brit Robinson ( who won Best Actress at the Nashville Film Festival for her performance in this film) is an actress I have been a fan of since  the Disney Channel movie Avalon High, seemed to have a bit of a hard time finding her footing in the start of the movie. Almost like she couldn't find the core of the character. She always standing very funny and also her behavior seemed to lack realism at times. This might have been part of her plan however it did little to pull me into the film. After those first 30 minutes she steadily seemed to shed this part of the character, and therefor became more relatable and believable.  I think that one of her finest moments was when she was seeking wisdom from Martin Sheen. Another when she was talking on the phone with her friend Joel's mother. Even after the movie was over I found myself thinking about those scenes. They really stayed with me as I'm sure it will stay with many audience members.
The supporting cast also did a wonderful job. Most notable of them being Martin Sheen and  Justin Long. Both gave very real performances that added a nice layer to the movie.
However I think that the real star of the film was the music. Normally it is so hard to find a film with music that was so well tailored to not only the character but the style and pace of the movie as well.  by the end of the film I found myself wanting the Ask Me Anything soundtrack. Interestingly enough  entire soundtrack is made up of songs submitted to a contest via Craig's List.  The songs had to be written and performed by a female, 21 years old and younger. Undiscovered girls you could say.
The soundtrack very rightfully won best music at the Nashville Film Festival.

On the behind the scenes side  of things, I was very impressed by the over all quality of the film, given it's tight budget.
Whoever made the call not to have the film play into all of those blogger cliches was brilliant.
I had been fearful that the movie would done like a series of blog post.
But thankfully it was not. While that style worked for the book it would have created a far to great disconnect in the movie. The only thing that fell short on that side was the flash backs. To me it was too over the top.  rather than pulling me into Katie's past it had me losing interested in her back story.

A highlight of the film was the ending for me.  And while I can't talk about it as both a fan of the book and movie it was wonderful. Above and beyond what I had hoped for.

(UN-  However the film does contain brief nudity, and langue)

Movie : Gravity

Sandra and George in outer space.  That right there was enough to get my interest.
When I first starting seeing trailers for the movie I was very unsure about it. First thing that worried me was the end. I was not sure if it was going to be yet another studio movie were they pull rabbits out of hats to make everything just right in the end or if it would be one of those movies were they throw the most unbelievable things at you just to get you invested in the story with cheep tricks ( Yes, James Cameron I'm talking about you).
This movie might have been like the later had it not been for Sandra. Her real, raw, and unquestionably human performance took this movie to new levels.  all by herself she kept us on the edge of our seats. We clung to every word that she spoke and hung onto her every movement. She held us spell bound.  Also it just goes to show all of us that woman can carry a movie - a blockbuster. That sex or gender has nothing to do with how well someone can tell a story or how much money a film will make.
None of this is to say that the crew did not do an unbelievable job. Because boy did everyone who worked on this film hit it out of the park. Sandra was only as good as she was because everyone raised her to that level. Every single name on the credits of this film should have high praise. They must have worked their butts off to get it to where it is today.
Someone else I would like to call out on the their fine work was the score. It was so prefect for this film. There is that now famous song that plays at the end of the film that just takes my breath away every time. If you have seen the film you know the one I am talking about.
One last thing that I love about this film is how it never once cuts down to nasa. It never breaks that feeling of being alone in space. It lets us feel and ride with Dr.Ryan Stone through all of this.
Over all it does have it's mistakes but to do what it did as well as it did was an impossible change. Sandra gave one of the greatest film performance that has ever graced the silver screen.

Movie: Oz The Great And Powerful

Let me start off by saying that I did not see this movie in the theater ( so no big 3D effect for me) because I had a feeling it was going to be a really bad movie. This movie was yet again another case of Disney throwing money out the window. It seems to me that all they can do is deliver their best worst movie.
The first problem with this film was that it tried to be a rip off Baz Luhrmann and the Wizard of Oz. Baz Luhrmann is a very talented but very hit or miss filmmaker. I was really shocked that they tried to make the film in a style so much like his. Also I felt that there was Tim Burton undertone that really threw off the story and the actors.
The one thing that made the movie okay to sit through was the CGI. But even  CGI could not cover up the bad storytelling and poor acting. There were so many mistakes in the film and scenes that should have been cut out. OR lines. So many lines that should have been rewritten. Really the film was weak all the way around. It had so much of it that was just pointless or poorly done.
There really were only a few good points in the film. The open credit roll was very good and I liked how they did that. That's something I would like to see more of in movies today.
Really the worst thing about the film was how long it was. I think that it could have been cut down to about an hour and forty-five minutes. That would have by far made it a much better movie. The fat would have been cut out and I would not have felt like I wanted to jump out of my skin watching it.
Over all I have to say that I was pretty let down with film even though I had the bar and my hopes set really low. I can not say that I would tell anyone to see this movie unless they were a fan of Wicked.

Movie: Mini review: The Decoy Bride

I saw this on netflix and on a whim thought I would watch it. How bad could it be? well truth be told not  bad at all! Its one of the best chick-flicks I have seen in a long time. The story is fun and goes places I did not think it would( while still staying true to the chick-flick). I really loved the cast. They made the film I have to say. For those of you who do not know who Kelly Macdonald is that she is the voice of  Princess Merida in Brave. So listening to her talk is a joy ( until you try to talk like her).  And add to it she is very very funny. Really the whole movie is funny. I laughed and laughed. and when it was over I wanted to watch it again. Which never happens with me and chick-flicks.  To like this movie you have to take it for what it is. No this movie will not change your life or make you rethink the worlds problems. But it is a funny sweet movie that will be great for any movie night or sleep over. Plus the jokes that you will be quoting are never ending. So the next time you see this on netflix or that the dvd store its total worth the buy.

Movie: The Lone Ranger

I like everyone else was so looking forward to this movie. And I was so let down. I don't even know where to start with this review. This is the worst film I have seen in so long. The worst since John Carter.  And to be honest I think this  is the only  movie that comes close to the train wreck known as John Carter. How this script got picked up I don't know. How the script was not fix I don't know. What the writers were thinking? The film was all over the place. Was it a crazy, gross, violent film were the bad guy eats the hearts of the people he kills. Really? oh and don't get me started on the part were people get beheaded. The film was way to dark for family fun. and as far as the native americans go it was pretty mixed up. I'm glad to a point that they tried to do something and say how terrible they were treated and how they were nothing. But it just did not seem to go with the rest of the story. And the killer rabbits? where does that come from other than being a total waste of screen time. There was so much that should have been cut out of the film all together or cut out.At many times I felt like walking out because I had so little interest in the five different movies this was trying to be.What story were they trying to tell? Is this a family movie? Is it a true western? Because I would not take anyone to see this movie. Its not a family fun movie. And its not really a very good western. It was a waste of time.
The only good thing about the movie was Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, The white horse and the finale train bit. Other than that the movie was a train wreck its self. Armie Hammer tried his best but his character was just not there at all. There was no growth to the lone ranger as a person.
I kind of liked that how the lone ranger would not kill anyone because I think it is about time we have that in movies but this was not the movie to do it in. He is a TEXAS ranger. And after all the things he has seen in the movie like watching a man cut out another's beating heart and eat it in front of him I think that the rangers views on not killing would be very different.
Over all Tonto says it best at the end of the movie " Don't ever do that again", that is how I feel about watching this movie or the lone ranger 2. Save your money and see something else.

( PG -13 very violent and gross)
Stars: * 1.3 really it should be an hour long film of Tonto and the finale train bit.

Movie:Star Trek:In To Darkness

As some of you may know I'm a huge fan of the new star trek movies. I have seen the first one by J.J. way to many times and still love it. Plus Im a big fan of Sherlock so I was over the moon about the casting. And might I say that this movie blows it out of the park! its awesome. I would have liked more of Zoe but thats just me.
J.J. is a great. though it seems like the flares get stronger and stronger with every movie he makes. I can not tell you how many times I saw it in the movie. Not that I mind it I my self am  big fan of the look but I have had to yell that my aunt and uncle that there is nothing wrong with their TV it is the film way to many times during the first movie. Which I'm sure is likely to happen again with this one.
But that aside I have to say I loved Ben. He just was awesome. He is the next huge actor if you ask me. I think that after seeing this and sherlock and tinker taylor I could watch him in just about anything and be happy. Plus the clothes they had him wearing in the film was just awesome. it made him look tall and skinny and kinda creepy. Now at this point you are thinking I have a crush on him which I do not. He is not my type I am just a very big fan of someone that talented. actors like him aren't found everyday. And so far he seems to be a pretty level headed guy. Who we can only hope knows how lucky he is and does not lose it. Because that would really suck when it comes time to rewatch the movie in years to come.
and of course Star Trek fans are going to be in love with him for years to come.

Movie:Hello Herman

As you all know I am a big fan of the small indie films. I love to watch movies by really filmmakers none of the hollywood bs in it. And the story of this really cough my eye. It seems everyday we hear more and more about school shootings. And I can't help but think of my self and my friends and family. What if they are next? So a film that talks about that and gives us a different look in to that is something that I want to see. Even more so when there is nothing Hollywood about it. The first thing I want to point out is that the film was made two years ago. A lot has happened since then. People are talking about it more.
As for the film its self it was good. The down fall of the film was Michelle Danner. Not only as the director but also as an actor I felt. First of all 30 minutes of the film need to be recut. They just lack a flow there is nothing holding the story together and the timing is all off. I get that they wanted to do something hip and kind of like Christopher Nolan a little bit but it missed its mark. Next some of the casting was off. The news man was terrible. Almost unwatchable. same with blonde lady that wanted Herman to died on TV. Which was sad because the rest of the cast was really good. Even Herman who I was unsure of at first. In all the areas where it seemed like Michelle Danner was not doing the work the film seemed to work. But I felt that though the film tries not to tell you what made Herman do this She as the filmmaker should have put a little more of what she felt caused it than she did. When She talked about the film in an interview she said the film shows us how we are letting our children fall through the cracks. And I wish that would have been in the film. I wish that the film did not flip-flop with what made Herman who he is. That falls on the screenwriter and Michelle Danner. Also Someone should have done something to the Lax. I mean really? With a film that is this hard and really deals with something as hard as this I wish that they would have kept the name something simple and not full of a bad joke.
But other than that I feel that the film is really worth watching. It makes us think about our lives and I feel that it helps us see things a little differently. Because it is no way right what Herman did but it is in no way right for us to sit back and let these things happen. We do need to do something unless we want this to keep happening. And the film shows us that we all are made of good and evil and we have to make the choice about which we are going to be. And that the things we do even the things we do not think about change people.
This film stayed with me for along time after the last credit rolled. And I think it will do the same for you. Its a film that is far from wonderful but to me the good out weighs the bad big time.

( R - The story is about a high school shooting. There is lots of talk about shooting, showing of bloody video games,  use of the F word and so on.)

Movie: Iron Man 3

I have to say I'm a huge fan of all of these superhero movies. Yes they are silly and yes they are just studio run of the mill money grabs but its fun and I like it.
That being said I have to say that I was pretty up set with how bad this movie was. Yes it was good but I was hoping for so much more.I really was looking forward to the Tony that I had come to love. and a great storyline that showed us more of Pepper. But I did not really get that.Though I like the movie I felt that at this point they could have done much better. There is so much out there and so many great choices that they could have made that would have made this an other great film. Its hard to look back at the movie and be like " that scene was awesome!" because they did not really have one of those scenes in here. And the best part of the movie was at the very end of the credits. That was just great. it left me feeling that iron man 2 was a better movie.
Though I have to say that I really did love Ben Kingsley. He was really good in the movie. And I love his storyline in the film.
But as far as the superhero movies go I have a feeling that this one will just get lost in the mix of so so superhero movies that are out there. But I think that iron man fans will still like it and have a great time watching it.

Movie: Argo

Now most of you should have heard of this by now with all the oscar buzz and now a golden globe win.So I will not waste any time in going in to what the story is.
But I would like to start off by saying I don't think I have ever been more pulled in by a film in my life. while watching this I was standing and walking around. I would not sit still. But I could not leave either I had to watch. I was pulled in by the actors and the story. aside from all the thrilling action. There where lots of funny parts to the film as well parts that had me laughing so very hard. And I think that Ben did an amazing job on the film. I loved at the end of the movie how they showed you real life photos and how they worked it in to the film. which I loved. I thought that it add so much to the film over all. and the acting was really good. everyone did their part so it felt very real. and another on that I loved about the film was how hard to watch it was. now that does not mean that it was bad or violent. it was just so intense. Your heart is racing. Then after the movie ends you sit there gasping for breath and want to watch something light and fluffy to calm you down after that. Its really an awesome feeling because then you find your self a few days later wanting to watch it all over again.I feel that he should have been up for the oscar. He worked his butt off and it payed off big time. I don't think that anyone else could have done a better job.
Now I'm not a big fan of the  films that are said to be inspired by life or what ever each filmmaker says about it. But this film is much better then that. and something that I like is from what I have heard from people Ben is a great guy which makes it even easier for me to like the film.
over all I say this is a must see film because there is nothing like it out there and its wonderful.

Movie: Liz and Dick

I like pretty much everyone else  watched with movie just to see what is going to be know as one of the worst movies ever made. even by TV. I mean I have never thought that lifetime was a never much of a channel. and as soon as Miss.Lohan said she will win an oscar I knew I had to see just to know that that was never going to happen.
I am not a an Elizabeth Taylor fan . And let me tell you that there are many nobody actors that could done a better job in their sleep. I mean is it to much to ask that she act a little bit like her. Sound like her. and you can see her trying to remember lines. and for once in my life I was so happy when the adds came on. finely there was so good acting. she might look some what like liz but that is only because she had nothing to do with it. I think the only reason she was able to do the job she did was because she felt she was a little bit like Elizabeth Taylor.
as for the cast and crew I feel sorry for them. they had to not only deal with Lohan but they also because this film feel apart because of her. any time you do a bio pick the actor if they can should watch movie interviews and learn how to walk like them and smile like them. its a big help in  making it believeable.
and as for the sets and so on they did the best they could its pretty good. I mean its lifetime. the script needed work. but all of it could have been good had it know been for Lohan. after this I hope to never see her in another movie again. and If she should ever get anywhere near to winning an oscar with the state she is in I dont think I could go on with movies anymore. I mean it has to be one of the hardest to watch movies I have ever seen. but if you're watching a movie for laughs its golden.
and its going to be one of the things moms and friends say to you when your movie fails " at least its not as bad as Liz and Dick".

Movie: Rust And Bone

As always I saw this at the telluride film festival. and note that I love Marion Cotillard  and want to see this film because of her.
This film is not what people lead you to think. Marion Cotillard lead.  This guy Alain is. Who to tell the truth I did not like all that much. He was all over the place and that was not the actor but the Writers fault.  I do not believe in the endless rewrites but he needed work. He was full of him self. And it seems that he did not true not love Marion. and he did not love his son. and to tell the truth watching the movie for me the only thing that could fix this guy was a nice kick in the butt. and at many points in the film the people around me were sighing and saying some very nasty works I will not say but you can guess. And my self and many others were hoping that Marion would find some one new.
Marion did a beautiful job brining Stephanie to life. showing you that as sad as she was she could get up again.
If you wanted to see this movie for Marion then i say yes because bottom line you will come out of it thinking to your self " Marion really is a breathtaking actress. her eyes tell the story".
and as for the story its self I say that its more work. it needed to know what story it was trying to tell. a good script knows what its trying to make the moviegoers thinking about and get out of it. or getting them to see what you as the filmmaker see in the story and at many times it felt like it was not there. that the film made up of scenes and ideas that were just throw together as they went along.
but as for everything other then the screenplay it was very well made film. And at points I liked it. over all I had very mixed feelings. But if you want to see it I say its worth a try.

Movie: A Royal Affair

I got to see this film at the Telluride Film Festival. And At first I thought I was going to see another bad Historical film that was hollywooded up.
But what I found in this film was very different. This film was strong. Im not a fan of movies about affairs. But this is a movie I walked thinking " I want to see that again. I want to relive their love".
that does not mean I did not find small parts with the film I did not like but who could? so I shall start with the few things I did not like " at some points I felt the king was just a little over the top. but other then that I really liked him.
now on to the things I did like which is long. fist off the lead actor Mads Mikkelsen ( who most of you know from James Bond:Casino Royale and After The wedding.) I my self do not find him sexy but slowly I started to fall in love with him. His acting was breathtaking. and I think I liked him much better in this as the leading man then as the bad guy in bond. after this film I can see my self being a fan.
Also i never found my self getting mad or upset about the subtitles. I found them easy to read and to watch the movie at the same time. and yes I have seen many subtitled movies before this.

but back to the film. One thing that was great about this movie was that I saw things from everyones point of view. I saw the queens side. I saw the kings. I saw the peoples point of view. and I think that is a huge thing for a film maker to have done. its very hard to do that.and they did it in the best way they could. and from what I have read online it sounds like the film was very true to what really happened. which I really liked.
Really this film was one of the High lights of the films at the festival for me. its a film that has stayed with me long after I saw it.

Movie: Waiting For Forever

I found this movie on netflix and it looked really good. I thought it would be a cute, fresh new indie love story. but I was wrong. this movie is okay. its not really that good. its an indie that looks like a so so lifetime movie. I'm not hating on it is okay but its never ever going to get out in theaters and it seems like thats what they where trying to do. there are two very bad things going for this movie. 1) the screenplay- it needs a lot of work. the idea is good. the rest is not. with a screenplay in that shape you really need a director who loves the film with a burning passion and actors who can act which brings me to problem 2) The Acting - When they cast Will they went for heartthrob not someone who can act. when playing a guy like Will it has to be a part of you. it seems like the blocking was forest. and when it can to the rest of the acting they should have looked for a guy who could play him like Ryan Gosling did Lars and The Real Girl ( if you have not seen that movie it is a most. it shows you what indie movies really are all about. ) sweet, fun, and crazy. but it is part of them not a show. the guy who played will it felt like he was trying to hard and not acting. I'm not trying to be mean Im just saying that its the truth. oh and Im adding a another one 3) The Fake - this movie is nothing but fake. I like it- well kinda but its fake the acting, the story the other the top trying to be something you have never seen. its fake. there are some scene where you watch it and thats all you get out of it.
And as far as Emma went I feel she tried but I would have liked to have seen someone a little softer playing her. I know she was going though a ruff time but she did not come off as nice at all. So she really was not likable. and a lot of scenes that show us how she feels where missed because of it. nothing happened. the only scene that really was pretty good was the one at the park.
and the whole ex-boyfriend thing was pretty dumb. I would have liked for it to come out and then we have to wait and hope that everything works out okay when Will finds out. but they tried to go all chris nolan on it and did not work. this should have in that area stayed with the tried and true.
and really its a film about a guy who stalks a girl. this is not okay no matter how cute you make the guy. its scary and no girl should like a guy like that. its just creepy okay.
but with that being said there were a lot of other good things about the movie. like the editing and the end was pretty. and they did a great job of getting the children actors and the grown up actors to look and act a lot a like. which is something a lot of movies get wrong. But it could have been better had those things been changes.

Movie: Fair Game

I liked this movie. I have turned in to a huge indie fan because of films like this. it really just stands out. as one of the better films you see. it has this great feeling of being real yet taking you away from the real would all at the same time. Which is something that many have a very hard time doing. like everything else in movie making its not easy and its great to watch when someone gets it right. And it you like the Bourne movies I think you will really like this. one of the killer points of the film is the fact that it is based of real life. One of the down points was the fact that it was slow at times and then it would get fast and slow. Thats normally fine but there was no flow to it. and the sharpness of it does not add to the feel of the movie. It felt like the passing was off. and some of the smaller actors broke at a few little points in the film. but Naomi Watts and Sean Penn were great in this film as always. and I think that shows a great look at the real life spy game. i know this is a short review but there is not to much to say about this movie other than it is wroth watching it .

Book: The Power Of Six ( A Lorien Legacies)

So this is book two of the Lorien Legacies or I Am Number Four. and I most say that I hated the movie but I liked the book. and when I got my hands on this one I feel in head first back in to the books. i like how we are learning more about the other ones and we learn more about Six.  I wish that it would have told us when it was going to change person but other then that I liked the book. it was a little better written then the  first. and there was a lot more going on which is the write way to do it with books like this. and I like how we see more of what Lorien might have been like. and we learn where Henri was right and wrong in what he told John.
Now when it comes to number Seven I was very happy with it. I like her and how her story is unlike John's or Six's.what I did not like was how for such a long story we did not see John grow. I think that there would have been more from where the other books ended to now. and I feel that the writer did not always think about adding more to it. this book does not have a heart. and if it does it is well hided in stone. it is cold and there is no life to it. but what do you really want from a book like this? well it had been not be the world because thats not what your going to get from this. But I liked it and I think that fans of the first book and movie will too.  and if you have time and no other book to read give this a try ( well the first one or the movie first) and you might really like it.  This is a book boys might really like.

Movie:Cowboys and Aliens

So some of you might have heard of this movie, some of you might not. I had heard of it and  I watched because my brother wanted. and I mean who does not want to see a cowboy fight an alien, its like every little boys dream (  I am a girl but I have a brother and a dad, so growing up I did watch a lot of sci-fi and western movies). and I wanted to see Olivia Wilde in something other then Tron and Butter. and I have to say it was nice to she her in this movie. I over all liked the cast and was very happy and sad to say this movie is nothing like I thought it would be. Their are a lot of haters and lovers for this movie. and I don't know which one I am. I like a lot of it and dislike a lot of it too. Over all I like the people and the story.I thought that at points it was very well done.I liked Jake and they way he handed things. I like how he was to other people and how most of the time he had  a mind and he used it. I  also really liked Ella because she was not like anyone else in the movie and kept everything together and for me that was one way you could tell it was a Si-Fi was by Jake and Ella they had a mind and by the way the acted with each other is one thing you see a lot in great sci-fi movies. And when done right like in this movie it really makes things likable and help moves the story along nicely. I thought that over all it was well done with everyone else to because you really saw people change, you got to see the highs and the lows of this and see how to work with people you so you can get the people you love back. But I do not like  the aliens and the the way at points like felt more like watching a bad horror movie then a sci-fi -western thing. and I think that they way he aliens where was really western. in most sci-fi you see a bad and you get an idea of why they are bad. where in most westerns you just see a bad guy as being bad. a western is more about good and bad where sci-fi is more about life and what really is good and bad. which is why I liked that jake  was  both. it kept everything in check. so in that way the film was good at mixing the two.Well up in till the last battle  in which case it was trying to hard to be to much. to much  of a sci-fi and to much of a western. and let me just say it had me really hating the movie. because some of it was not needed and over all made the film look trashy.   And I did not always like the endless need to be bloodily and gross and there was an endless killing. that to me was just out and out weird. Also  the ending of the movie was not what I saw coming. really most of the movie was not what I saw coming. and I say if you want to see it see its not really a wast of time. But believe me when I say that is  almost R on  last battle.

Book:Play Me

So this book is not new, but right now I was having a hard time finding a book to read. I feel out of place with books lately. and so I thought that book all about movies would be just the right pick me up and it was movies that have been making it hard for me to find the time to read.
This book was fun to read. it is not some great work, but it was fun and nice for me to read because of all the movies it talked about, and I found I could relate to Eddy and some of the things he felt about movies and his life the most. One thing I really do like was how it was set in a guys head, that way girls can pass it on to their boyfriends and it would be else of  a pain and because also it made the book better i felt. because you got to see how a guy handed these things. I could see how a girl no matter what she was like dealing with these things but this a guy I never feel i know so fully.  and something else I really liked ( mostly because it is what I am going through) is what means more your friends or the dream?  and I felt that the book did a good job of showing us both sides and how Eddy felt about them. and how he was so cought up in it all that he did not always see what was going now around him. and I some times felt that people around him changed their minds to fast.  and that I did not feel that there was much going on with the other kids or people in  felt dull. and i want to know if that is just the author or is it the story and the people? I think that it is just the writer.
i would say read this book, if you want to read about movies but do not read it if you want to be in movies so much, because it is really not a very.

Movie:The Artist

I saw this film at one of the film Festivals it has been at. And I have to say that this film looks like (so far) the best  looking film for the oscars. the cast looks great and will most likely be wining  something for the cast. I think that  Jean Dujardin will win best actor. Yes, J.Eager looks great. but this guy is off the wall good. I mean you watch  it and you ask your self why have you never heard of him before? and the rest of the cast is great but he is the best because he is the lead.  also the film is great, it was well done. the sound in it is great and well put. I like how the film shows us a little darker side of silent films.  and I like how it kept the great feel of old movies yet with the  style of  newer films. I think that this film is up there with the kings speech. because it is great. this is the best film I have seen in a long time. I think that this movie is going to change movies for a long time. its is going to bring the silent films back up.and I think that it will make it a lot easier for small first time film makers to get money. Because if you look at the oscars the past 4 years small Indy films have won. and I think that we are looking at the next one here. so get ready to go to see this movie when it comes out. I highly think it is worth the money. unless you hate silent movies in which case you should still go see it just so you do not feel weird at dinner parties. the one thing I would have changed in the film and had it be a little older looking. I do not like my Black & White movies to look so clean and new. I like them to look like they did in the 30s and 40s. but other then that I just love this movie. and if you can read lips I know you will love it too!

( PG but kids under 9 should not see it )

Book:The Invention of Hugo Cabret

Well a couple of years ago a friend gave me a signed copy of this book i started it but never finished it until the book club at my library had picked the book for that months read. Now on to the book, Brian Selznick created a vary odd and new way of telling his great story the tons of pictures and words, also he splits the book in to two parts.  the first of witch has to reading non stop till you get the answer to the question ask the role first half then when you get the answer you will then have to read the second half to understand it it and trust me you like it. the writing is vary well done the pictures are AMAZING, but it's one of the only books i know to have Rights at the end do to having Photos form old silent movies. do yourself a favor and read this book. the story is fantastic and evolves so well that you will fall in love with it. and when your done reading this you should go read his other book Wonder Struck which i will be posting a review of shortly.

Movie:Kinky Boots

when a friend said I should watch this movie I laughed in her face. I did not want to see this small weird creep of a movie. but when my family wanted to watch it. I went with it. and I have to say that this movie may look weird and even maybe a little weird it rock. one of the best movies I have seen in a long long time. I love this movie.  it is not the best movie ever made but it is good. it is a movie that was not made with a ton of money so i does not look as great as other studio films. it sounds crazy and it is a little crazy but this is a movie everyone should see. it shows us our lives now and from now one. I like how it shows us that just because some of us are gay or drag queens does not mean we are not human and that they are not good people to. I like this one because it is not pushy. it is just a story of life. that is what is nice about a movie like this. and I hope you all like it to. because if you don't I don't know what is wrong with you.over all very good.
