Movie:Hello Herman

As you all know I am a big fan of the small indie films. I love to watch movies by really filmmakers none of the hollywood bs in it. And the story of this really cough my eye. It seems everyday we hear more and more about school shootings. And I can't help but think of my self and my friends and family. What if they are next? So a film that talks about that and gives us a different look in to that is something that I want to see. Even more so when there is nothing Hollywood about it. The first thing I want to point out is that the film was made two years ago. A lot has happened since then. People are talking about it more.
As for the film its self it was good. The down fall of the film was Michelle Danner. Not only as the director but also as an actor I felt. First of all 30 minutes of the film need to be recut. They just lack a flow there is nothing holding the story together and the timing is all off. I get that they wanted to do something hip and kind of like Christopher Nolan a little bit but it missed its mark. Next some of the casting was off. The news man was terrible. Almost unwatchable. same with blonde lady that wanted Herman to died on TV. Which was sad because the rest of the cast was really good. Even Herman who I was unsure of at first. In all the areas where it seemed like Michelle Danner was not doing the work the film seemed to work. But I felt that though the film tries not to tell you what made Herman do this She as the filmmaker should have put a little more of what she felt caused it than she did. When She talked about the film in an interview she said the film shows us how we are letting our children fall through the cracks. And I wish that would have been in the film. I wish that the film did not flip-flop with what made Herman who he is. That falls on the screenwriter and Michelle Danner. Also Someone should have done something to the Lax. I mean really? With a film that is this hard and really deals with something as hard as this I wish that they would have kept the name something simple and not full of a bad joke.
But other than that I feel that the film is really worth watching. It makes us think about our lives and I feel that it helps us see things a little differently. Because it is no way right what Herman did but it is in no way right for us to sit back and let these things happen. We do need to do something unless we want this to keep happening. And the film shows us that we all are made of good and evil and we have to make the choice about which we are going to be. And that the things we do even the things we do not think about change people.
This film stayed with me for along time after the last credit rolled. And I think it will do the same for you. Its a film that is far from wonderful but to me the good out weighs the bad big time.

( R - The story is about a high school shooting. There is lots of talk about shooting, showing of bloody video games,  use of the F word and so on.)

Book:Revolution

I have wanted to tea d this book since it first came out but never felt the real call to read it.
So when I saw it at the library a few weeks ago I thought what the hell I have nothing to lose at this point.
And I have to say this is one of the best books I have ever read. no its not a great classic but it really touches the heart. and for me the story of these two girls and how strong they are moves me. I just feel in love with both of them. yes at points it was hard to read because I did not always like what was going on ( I really love the big hollywood ends - so sue me). but the words and how they talk about music moved me so much. I want to go through the book again just to listen to all the music they talk about.
At times I felt like I could reach out and touch them. I could feel what they felt in my heart and soul. very few YA books really do that. something else I loved about this book was that it was not about another love sick teenager ( I know we all love them but it can get a little old). the love in this book was a different kind of true love.
there are so many things we can learn from this. That we are all going through are own hell but we have to find away to work through it. I think this is a book that anyone will learn something from. even if you don't like this kind of book. it is one that will move you. so if you can really read it. it is something that you should try. I my self can not wait to reread it- which means its very good because I never reread.

Book: Sequins, secrets, and Silver linings

I found this book at the library as always and had to read it when I found out it was from the UK. It can be so hard to find books from other countries some times. and this looked cute.
And I have to say it was. I liked how this was like the UK's The Daughters. and I found it really fun and easy to read. I loved the how story with Crow and how she.... well read it for your self to know the awesome story that is hide in in side the book.
what I did not always like was how it was just like every other book i had read like it. the fact that it showed  3 girls that are just like every non-teen thinks teen-agers are. we are not  either fake in want to be an actor. we are not young workers and we are not the young girl trying to find her self in cloths. we are more then that and I wish the book would have tried harder to show us that. but other then that it was all good. I liked how it was cute it was. and how it was just a nice story of teen age friendship and how it is always changing and how you can still stay friends if you try.

Movie:Kinky Boots

when a friend said I should watch this movie I laughed in her face. I did not want to see this small weird creep of a movie. but when my family wanted to watch it. I went with it. and I have to say that this movie may look weird and even maybe a little weird it rock. one of the best movies I have seen in a long long time. I love this movie.  it is not the best movie ever made but it is good. it is a movie that was not made with a ton of money so i does not look as great as other studio films. it sounds crazy and it is a little crazy but this is a movie everyone should see. it shows us our lives now and from now one. I like how it shows us that just because some of us are gay or drag queens does not mean we are not human and that they are not good people to. I like this one because it is not pushy. it is just a story of life. that is what is nice about a movie like this. and I hope you all like it to. because if you don't I don't know what is wrong with you.over all very good.

Book:Matched

I have heard a lot if good things about this book.I have really wnated to read it but have not had the time. So when I saw this at the book store I had to get it. And I have to say that I loved the cover. But was sad to read that it had nothing to do with the cover.that really made me mad. I like the dress. but it had nothing to do with the green thing. I wish it would have been a scene from the book on the cover. the cover is cool. just not for the book its self.
as for the book. I liked it. but it was very slow book. the opening was awesome. but I was a little let down when the book stayed slow. I wanted more. I wanted to  more Si-Fi stuff. but there was none. yes it was really good Si-Fi. but it missed the high drama that comes with Si-fi. that is one of the keys to good Si-fi. it has to have lots of drama. it needs people fighting. love. anger, but this book missed that. other then I liked it okay. I liked the people in the story alright. they were good. need a little more to be good.
so really I was happy with the opening and mad at the end. it was to up in the air. and it did not leave me wanting to read the next one. I wish that this would have been just a little longer and that I could have had a good ending. what I would have also liked is that she write lots of books in the world she has made but that they are not about the people in this book.
I think that teens will like this book because it shows us how we may feel powerless but be still make the choices that give us and other people the power. I like that in this book. I like how it shows us that some times we are alone. and that we have to do what is hard. and for a long time in the book that was not to talk not to tell any one what was going on.
also the book talks about how taking the choice away from the people will not take away the fact that they are people. and I like that. there is a lot of good in this book too.
so over all I liked and disliked this book. so this is a good  book for fans of slow  Si-Fi.

Movie: Inception

This movie movie push movies to the cliff! this movie is just breathtaking. You feel for Cobb and you hope for him and you get mad. and you might get lost. I am happy to say that thanks to having a life lived in movies help me not to get lost and even to guess the ending. if you have seen the movie then you do not believe but it is true.  but any way this movie rock and it  should win the Oscar just for taking movies the next level ( Haha this movie really goes to level 5 if you know what I mean). If you love stories then you have to see this movie! even if you do not like movies. really it is a movie that every one has to see. it is great to talk about at parties when you can think of any thing else to say. the cast was great. I loved Leo's side-kick. he rocked! I did not like Ellen Page so much in this movie. I think that she was the best they could get but not the best for the part. This movie is every thing that Avatar should have been. now some of you might not like the movie but that is only because you do not get how breath taking! I love this movie! it is just dazzing! I love it! only downer was I felt that miss. Page was out of place. but other then that great movie! Nolan is a screenplay God!

( PG-13. for action, and very hard thought if you ask me also some images that might scare younger kids. or kjust kids,)
